ICI Journals Master List is an international indexation database of scientific journals, in which journals that successfully pass the parametric evaluation process currently based on 41 criteria are indexed every year. Submitting a journal for indexation is free of charge and is done by sending an evaluation survey by the date specified in the evaluation schedule.
Journals that meet the indexation conditions described in the 'Indexation Procedure' receive the ICV (Index Copernicus Value) indicator, valid for 1 year, reflecting the level of its parametric quality.

Basic assumptions of evaluation
• The indexation process in the ICI Journals Master List database takes place every year.
• Each year, a new ICV indicator is determined for the period of operation of the journal in the previous year.
• The indexation process is free of charge.
• A journal is submitted for indexation by sending an evaluation survey by the date specified in the evaluation schedule.
• After the applicable deadline, journal operators who have not submitted an application (have not sent a survey) may do so via an additional journal evaluation path - the so-called Evaluation on Request.
• Journals whose surveys contain false information are refused indexation in a given year.

Assessment result – Index Copernicus Value (ICV)
The ICV indicator consists of the sum of points obtained by the journal in 41 evaluation criteria grouped into two components: "quality of the journal" and "Journal's impact". The "quality of the journal" component consists of the sum of points obtained from the criteria belonging to the following areas: standards, stability, digitalization and internationalization. Points for "Journal's impact" are awarded only to journals indexed in the Web of Science and/ or Scopus database, which consists of the sum of points obtained from the criteria: Journal's citation and Journal's citation dynamics. The algorithm awarding points for the areas of "quality of the journal" and "Journal's impact" was developed by Index Copernicus analysts.
As a result of the assessment, journal operators, in addition to the value of the ICV parametric index determined by the algorithm, also receive feedback on the degree to which the applicable criteria have been met - the so-called Detailed Journal Evaluation Report.
NOTE: The ICV (Index Copernicus Value) indicator is a parametric indicator. It is calculated based on data declared by the Editorial Offices in evaluation surveys and data collected on the Index Copernicus platform. Index Copernicus does not calculate the citation index of journals.
